The Return of Salvage in Black Ops 6

In previous games, you could use salvage to create armor, repair armor, upgrade weapon levels, or craft items. Salvage appears to be gained from killing zombies, alongside random drops such as lethals.

In Black Ops Cold War Zombies, Salvage was a form of in-game currency that players could collect by killing zombies. It came in two types: green Uncommon Salvage and blue Rare High-Grade Salvage. Players could use Salvage at crafting tables to create armor, upgrade weapons, and craft various items such as scorestreaks and self-revive kits.

While some players enjoyed the added resource management and customization options that Salvage provided, others felt that it cluttered the screen and disrupted the flow of the game. Critics argued that it made the Zombies experience feel more like a chore than a thrilling fight for survival.
Mixed Reactions from Call of Duty Fans
The potential return of Salvage in Black Ops 6 Zombies has reignited the debate surrounding the feature. Many players were hopeful that Treyarch would move away from controversial mechanics like Salvage in favor of a more classic, stripped-back Zombies experience.
Smh salvage is so dumb…. Hopefully it works differently this year cause there’s no place for armor and score streaks in zombies

However, if the rumors are to be believed, it seems that the developer may be opting to retain some of the divisive elements from Black Ops Cold War.
I hate it. That and body armor are horrible mechanics for zombies they NEED to stay in Warzone. This isn't a traditional zombies at all. They need to keep the warzone mechanics out of zombies altogether or just keep them in an Outbreak mode. Not round based

Treyarch now faces the challenge of striking a balance between honoring the traditional Zombies formula that fans know and love while also introducing fresh ideas to keep the mode engaging.
The studio has already confirmed that Black Ops 6 Zombies will feature a return to the round-based gameplay that defined earlier entries in the series, a decision that has been met with widespread approval from the community.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is available for pre-order now on Xbox (Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One), PlayStation (PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4), and PC via Microsoft Store, Battle.net, and Steam. It will also be the first COD title to join Game Pass on day one of its release.
