Black Ops Gulf War to Bring Back Black Ops 4 Features
According to a credible dataminer on X, the upcoming Call of Duty 2024, widely believed to be titled Black Ops Gulf War, will reintroduce elements from Black Ops 4. This claim has sparked excitement among fans, especially considering that Treyarch’s last lead development role was in 2020’s Black Ops Cold War—making COD 2024’s development cycle the longest in the series’ history.
@alanthethird_90, a popular figure in the Call of Duty leaks and datamining community, recently shared his insights quoting another leaker, @HeyImAlaix on X. Notably, the latter is the same scooper who previously reported Treyarch’s potential use of Gulf War assets in Modern Warfare 3’s Zombies mode. In response to Alaix’s tease, @alanthethird_90 claimed to “confirm” that the developers will reintroduce many “BO4 stuff” in Black Ops Gulf War.

While the specifics of this “stuff” remain unclear, this revelation has ignited fresh discussions among fans. While some have mixed reactions, the community largely appears optimistic about the future Black Ops game, speculating that Gulf War could blend the best of both worlds, drawing on the strengths of Black Ops 4 and Black Ops Cold War – the last two entries in Treyarch’s celebrated series.
Initially, Alaix’s tease also left followers wondering if “Gulf War doing a BO4” meant the absence of a single-player Campaign in the future title—a move by Treyarch that disappointed many fans back in 2018. However, recent reports suggest that not only will the next entry feature a single-player story mode, but it will also introduce the franchise’s first full-fledged open-world Campaign!
Call of Duty: Black Ops Gulf War is rumored for an October release this year.
