Call of Duty: Black Ops Gulf War Set to Be Unveiled Before June’s Xbox Showcase
Excitement and anticipation are building as the next entry in the Call of Duty series, reportedly named Call of Duty: Black Ops Gulf War according to recent leaks, edges closer to its speculated release later this year. As is customary in the gaming industry, Treyarch’s next venture in the potentially next Black Ops title has also fallen victim to a flurry of leaks and rumors.
Insider Gaming has reported that Black Ops Gulf War is currently set to be revealed prior to Microsoft’s major Xbox Games Showcase event “in a more ‘traditional fashion’ and outside of Warzone.” The showcase, scheduled for June 9, 2024, will provide fans with fresh looks at new and upcoming games for Microsoft’s console.
While some rumors had previously suggested that fans might get their first look at the 2024 Call of Duty through a trailer during the Xbox Showcase event itself, Insider Gaming now reports that Treyarch is set to officially unveil Black Ops Gulf War even before the Summer Game Fest, a separate gaming event that is set to be held on June 7.
Notably, it has been four years since Treyarch’s last entry in the COD series, Black Ops Cold War, in 2020, making Gulf War the first-ever Call of Duty game to undergo a four-year development cycle. This, coupled with other rumors alleging that the game will feature a full-fledged open-world campaign—another first-ever for the series—has ignited excitement and raised expectations among many fans!
Industry insiders speculate that the developers are currently targeting an October release window for Call of Duty: Black Ops Gulf War. What are your thoughts about this year’s COD? Are you hopeful for the new direction the series might take? Let us know in the comments below!
